The Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration is the elaborate title for a data visualisation project realised during my time as a student at the ZHdK. It follows the first European explorers on their adventures to the southern hemisphere. Initially, we focused our research on the record-setting expeditions but after a while discovered the stories behind the parties heading south and the arms race between nations to be the first to raise their flag at the center of the southern pole.
